Our History

Discover the key moments that have shaped the National Laboratory for Quality Control of Medicines and its commitment to public health in Mauritania.

2009 – Creation

The National Laboratory for Quality Control of Medicines (LNCQM) was established by presidential decree, marking a crucial step in structuring the national pharmaceutical sector and the commitment to ensuring access to safe and effective medicines for the Mauritanian population.

2009 – First Comprehensive Analyses

LNCQM became fully operational and conducted its first comprehensive drug analyses. Acquisition of the first advanced equipment and training of technical teams laid the foundation for its future expertise.

2025 – Modernization and Expansion

A significant modernization phase with the acquisition of new analytical technologies and expansion of its premises. The laboratory strengthened its capacities to meet international standards and the growing needs of the country.

2009 to Present – Towards Excellence

LNCQM continues to play a central role in monitoring drug quality, collaborating with international partners, adopting Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and committing to a continuous improvement process to achieve excellence and international recognition.
